Understanding units

The calculator tells you how many units to draw. Here is exactly what a unit is, and why it means the same thing on every insulin syringe.

1 1 unit = 0.01 mL

On a U-100 insulin syringe one unit is a hundredth of a millilitre. So 10 units is 0.1 mL, and 100 units is 1 mL. Units simply make very small volumes easier to read off the barrel.

2 A unit is always a unit

It does not matter which insulin syringe you pick up. Drawing to 20 units pulls the same 0.2 mL on a 0.3 mL, a 0.5 mL or a 1 mL syringe. The tick marks never change size.

3 Syringes hold different totals

What changes between syringes is how many of those marks fit on the barrel. A bigger syringe is not a bigger unit, it is just more room.

0.3 mL30 units max
0.5 mL50 units max
1.0 mL100 units max

Example: a 20-unit draw is 0.2 mL on all three syringes above. The only difference is how much empty barrel is left behind it.

How the retatrutide calculator works

Retatrutide arrives as a lyophilized powder, and before anything can be measured it has to be dissolved in a known volume of bacteriostatic water. This retatrutide calculator turns that volume into a concentration and a syringe reading. It opens with a 10mg vial and 2mL of water loaded, so the figures appear straight away. Change the vial strength, the water volume or the syringe size and every number updates. The target amount box stays empty until you fill it, because the amount belongs to the protocol a researcher is working to, not to a web form.

Retatrutide reconstitution: how the water volume sets the concentration

People searching how much bac water for 10mg retatrutide are looking for a single answer, and there is not one. The water volume is a choice. Concentration is vial mass divided by water volume, so the same vial gives a different figure each time the volume changes. For a 1mg reading:

  • 10mg vial in 1mL gives 10mg/mL, and 1mg sits at 10 units
  • 10mg vial in 2mL gives 5mg/mL, and 1mg sits at 20 units
  • 10mg vial in 3mL gives 3.33mg/mL, and 1mg sits at 30 units
  • 30mg vial in 3mL gives 10mg/mL, and 1mg sits at 10 units

Larger vials need more water to keep the syringe readable. A 30mg vial in 1mL is 30mg/mL, where 1mg is only 3.3 units and a one-tick error is nearly a third of the draw. More water spreads the same mass across more ticks, which is why the calculator warns you when a reading falls under 2 units.

Retatrutide dosage calculator: milligrams to syringe units

The conversion is two divisions. Divide the amount by the concentration to get the volume in mL, then multiply by 100 to read it as units on a U-100 insulin syringe. At 5mg/mL, 1mg is 0.2mL, which is 20 units. The doses-in-vial figure is the vial mass divided by the amount, so a 10mg vial holds ten 1mg draws on paper. Amounts in micrograms work too: switch the unit to mcg and 1,000mcg converts to the same 1mg.

Check the vial before you calculate

Every figure starts from the strength printed on the vial, so confirm it against the certificate of analysis for your batch. Healio publishes each one on the research page, and how to read a certificate of analysis explains which figures actually prove something. Once the vial is mixed, write the water volume, the concentration and the date on the label. Our guide to reconstituting peptides covers the handling, and how long bacteriostatic water lasts covers the in-use window.

Retatrutide for sale from Healio is stocked in 10mg, 20mg and 30mg vials. For the same arithmetic on a different molecule, try the tirzepatide calculator, or use the all-peptide calculator for any vial strength.

Retatrutide calculator FAQ

How much bacteriostatic water goes in a 10mg retatrutide vial?

There is no single correct volume. 1mL gives 10mg/mL, 2mL gives 5mg/mL and 3mL gives 3.33mg/mL. The volume sets the concentration, and the concentration sets where a given amount lands on the syringe. More water gives finer, easier readings.

How do I convert retatrutide mg to units?

On a U-100 syringe one unit is 0.01mL. Divide the amount by the concentration to get mL, then multiply by 100. At 5mg/mL, 1mg is 0.2mL, which reads as 20 units.

Does this retatrutide dosage calculator recommend an amount?

No. It performs arithmetic on the figures you enter and has no opinion about them. Healio supplies research compounds for laboratory use, so quantities belong to the protocol a researcher is working to.

Which retatrutide vial sizes does the calculator cover?

It has presets for 10mg, 20mg and 30mg, the three strengths Healio stocks, and the vial field accepts any other figure. Always confirm the strength against the certificate of analysis for your batch.

Why does the calculator warn about small volumes?

Under 2 units on a U-100 syringe, the width of one tick mark is a large share of the draw, so small errors matter more. Adding more water lowers the concentration and moves the same amount to a bigger, easier reading.

Can I use the same calculator for other peptides?

Yes. The arithmetic does not change between compounds, only the vial strength does. The all-peptide calculator holds presets for every Healio compound.

Healio Peptides supplies research compounds intended for laboratory and research use only. This calculator performs concentration arithmetic on figures you enter. It does not recommend quantities, and nothing on this page is medical advice. These compounds are not intended for human consumption and these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.
